When I try to drag and drop a file into Virtual CRASH I get a ‘forbidden’ symbol. What’s going on?

The preferred method of importing files into Virtual CRASH is through the ‘Project > Import’ command. However, there may be times when you’ll need to drag and drop files into Virtual CRASH. If you’re trying to drag and drop a file into your scene and you’re seeing a ‘forbidden’ symbol you may be running the application as an administrator.

To fix this navigate to ‘Program Files (x86) > vizi > Virtual CRASH 4’ and right-click on the ‘vcrash4.exe’ file. Select ‘Properties’ and select the ‘Compatibility’ tab. Deselect ‘Run this program as an administrator’ and click ‘Apply’. If you have Virtual CRASH running save your current file and restart the program. You should now be able to drag and drop items into your environment.

While on the Compatibility tab you may also want to make sure that ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for:’ is deselected, as running Virtual CRASH in compatibility mode may produce undesirable results.
